Children's Teeth
Children's teeth are more prone to decay than adult teeth. A high sugar diet, sweets, and frequent eating throughout the day increase the risk of cavities.
Food and Drink
Get your child accustomed to regular meals – three main meals and two snacks. Don’t let them snack continuously throughout the day – their teeth need a break of several hours after eating or drinking. Also, get them used to quenching their thirst with water. Save juices and soft drinks for special occasions – not for every day!
If you give your child sugary drinks, juice, or milk during the night, it increases the risk of damage to their teeth since the sugary liquid stays in their mouth for a long time.
Comfort nursing for children who have teeth, especially at night, increases the risk of developing dental cavities.
Brushing Teeth
Get your child used to brushing their teeth as soon as the first teeth appear. Children cannot brush their teeth properly by themselves before the age of eight or twelve.
Help them brush their teeth in the morning and evening. Use the toothbrush to clean the chewing surfaces. The molars have uneven surfaces and should be cleaned thoroughly. Brush the teeth along the gum line in a circular motion, where plaque tends to accumulate. Use a small toothbrush. Teach your child to go to sleep with clean teeth!

In Case of an Accident
It is common for children to fall and injure their teeth. See a dentist or doctor if there is heavy bleeding, or if a tooth is loosened, pushed into the jaw, or knocked out of the mouth.
